Controlled Iron Casting Processes Built for Industrial Reliability

At Soham Metal Cast, our foundry and forging operations are designed to deliver consistent Grey Iron and Ductile Iron Castings and Forgings with dependable material properties, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality. Every process is controlled to support repeatable production and real-world performance.

We focus on stability, process discipline, and practical manufacturing methods rather than volume-driven production.

Efficient Melting with Metallurgical Control

Our foundry uses controlled melting systems which maintain metal quality and consistency throughout the entire process. The process requires us to carefully monitor three factors: raw material selection and melting temperature and chemical composition.

The approach enables us to create iron castings and forgings which possess stable characteristics and predictable performance for use in demanding industrial environments.

Moulding Processes

The Foundation of Dimensional Accuracy

High-quality castings and forgings begin with the right moulding or forming process. At Soham Metal Cast, we use multiple methods based on design, weight, and application requirements.

Green Sand Process

Used for light to medium-weight castings and forgings where repeatability and cost efficiency are important. This process is suitable for components requiring good surface finish and consistent dimensional control.

No Bake Process

The system works best with complex medium to heavy castings which require intricate designs. The no bake moulding process provides excellent dimensional stability and improved surface quality, making it suitable for structural and industrial components.

Clean Finish, Machining-Ready Castings

After casting, components undergo controlled fettling and surface cleaning processes. Shot blasting removes residual sand and scale, while fettling ensures removal of excess material from parting lines and gates.

This stage improves:

Each casting is finished carefully to maintain dimensional integrity and functional reliability.

A Foundry Built for Engineering Confidence

From melting to finishing, our foundry and forging processes are aligned with industrial standards and customer specifications.
